Car Travel Preferences

Car Travel Preferences is an expandable/collapsible section of the Travel Preferences tab that displays the car travel preferences from your Profile and lets you change the preferences for the current search.

Note: Setting your travel preferences from Car Home affects only the current search. To change the travel preferences in your profile, see Travel Preferences.

To Set Your Car Preferences

This screen appears when you begin a new car rental search.

  1. Before you click the Search button on a car search, you should review the Car Travel Preferences screen in the right pane.

  2. Make any changes to the preferences that you want for this trip. These changes are not saved for future trips.

  3. Continue with your search.

Car Travel Preferences Fields

Field or Control

Description

Preferred Car Type

Select the type of car you want to rent from the dropdown list.

Automatically Select Car

A check in this box indicates the system is requested to select a car automatically based on your preferences and your company's preferences, bypassing the Car Availability screen.

Associate airline frequent flyer numbers in car reservations

Check this checkbox to associate the frequent flyer numbers stored in your profile with your car reservation.

Guarantee with credit card if required

Check this box to allow you to reserve cars from rental car companies that require a credit card at the time of booking.

Use preferred car companies

A check indicates that the system is requested to limit the availability search to the car companies selected from the three drop-down lists below the field. Click a company name or the (select) link to change this preference.

Note: Company preferences override traveler preferences.

Special Request

Enter any special requests you have for the rental car (leather seats, non-smoking, etc.).

Note: The rental car company is not obligated to honor this request, however they will receive it on the reservation record.

Credit Card for car deposit

The credit card you prefer to use to guarantee rental car reservations.
