Hotel Travel Preferences

Hotel Travel Preferences is an expandable/collapsible section of the Travel Preferences tab that displays the hotel travel preferences from your Profile and lets you change the preferences for the current search.

Note: Not all of your hotel travel preferences appear on the Travel Preferences tab. Your profile includes additional preferences that are not necessarily trip specific. Setting your travel preferences from Hotel Home affects only the current search. To change the travel preferences in your profile, see Travel Preferences.

To Set Your Hotel Preferences

This screen appears when you begin a new hotel search.

  1. Before you click the Search button on a hotel search, you should review the Hotel Travel Preferences screen in the right pane.

  2. Make any changes to the preferences that you want for this trip.  These changes are not saved for future trips.  

  3. Continue with your search.

Hotel Travel Preferences Fields

The following table lists the fields and controls typically found in the Hotel Travel Preferences section of the Travel Preferences screen.

Field or Control

Description

Limit to preferred chains

A check indicates that the system is requested to limit the availability search to the hotel chains selected from the three drop-down lists below. You may change the selection of your chains by selecting the existing chain name or the (select) link. You can select up to three chains per request

Note: Company preferences override traveler preferences.

Warning. If you are searching for a hotel by name or partial name, be sure not to contradict the request by limiting your search to incompatible chains.

Apply Excluded Hotel Chains

A check indicates that the system is requested to exclude the hotel chains selected from the three drop-down lists below from the availability search.

Note: Company-assigned excluded hotel chains override traveler-excluded hotel chains.

Smoking Preference

Adds a request to your reservation, but does not guarantee your room type. Most rooms list the smoking allowance in the room description on the Room Rates screen.

Preferred Credit Card

The credit card you prefer to use to guarantee hotel reservations or a deposit charge, if needed.

Deposit and guarantee policies vary between properties. Be sure to reead the Hotel Rate Policy for deposit and guarantee requirements. Your form of payment is defined in your Profile's Billing Information section.

Additional Requests

Enter any special requests that you have. The hotel is not obligated to honor these requests, however, they will make a reasonable attempt.

Do not display Crown Ratings on Hotel Availability

A check indicates that you do not want crown ratings displayed for hotels in availability.

Only Display hotels with a crown rating of __ and up

The minimum crown rating for hotels returned in availability. Company Preferred and/or Company Contract Hotels are not affected by this.

Preferred Rate Type

A special rateset up by your company that allows you to request certain room rates (e.g., Government, senior, AAA).
