Car Home

The Car Home screen is the starting point for a car only trip. You can open Car Home at any time by selecting Travel > Start a New Trip from the main menu, and then clicking the Car tab. At Car Home, the left pane lets you search for a car, and the right pane displays the travel preferences from your profile that might apply to your trip.

Note: Setting your preferences from Car Home affects only the current search. It does not change the preferences stored in your profile.

The Car Home screen has two search options: Same Location and Different Location.

• Same Location . Select this option if you will drop off the car at the pick-up location.

• Different Location. Select this option if you will drop off the car somewhere else.

To Rent a Car

1. Select Travel > Start a new trip from the main menu. The Air tab opens in the left pane.

2. Click the Car tab. The Car Home screen opens in the right pane.

3. Choose where you will pick up and drop off the car.

• Click Same Location if you will drop off the car at the pick-up location.

• Click Different Location if you will drop off the car somewhere else.

4. Enter the location where you want to pick up the car in the Pick-Up Location field. This can be a city or airport code. If enabled, the Off Airport Location link will be visible. See Off Airport Location for instructions.

5. Enter the date you want to pick up the car in the Pick-up date field. Type the date, or click the Calendar icon and select a date.

6. Select your pick-up time from the Pick-up time list.

7. (Only if Different Location is selected.) Enter the city name or airport code for the location where you want to drop off the car.

8. Enter your Drop-off date and Drop-off time the same way.

9. Check the Include hotel box to include a hotel booking. The Based on car search criteria checkbox appears, already checked, which searches for a hotel using your search criteria for your car rental.

10. Uncheck the Based on car search criteria box to modify your hotel search options. See Hotel Home for hotel search help.

10. In the Travel Preferences tab, set your preferences for this search. See Car Travel Preferences.

11. Select your Itinerary Preference from the list. Select Suggested Itinerary to have the system pick the best match, or select Custom Built Itinerary to build your own itinerary from a list of options.

12. Click Search. The Shopping Cart opens in the left pane. The contents of the right pane depend on your search options.

13. f you chose Suggested Itinerary, the Suggested Itinerary screen opens.

14. If you chose Custom Built Itinerary, the Car Availability screen opens.
